Cinq Music Group, a GoDigital Music company, has signed a distribution partnership with Soul HQ, a Nairobi-based artist development platform and creative services company.
The agreement is intended to help African artists build sustainable international careers while retaining creative control. It will combine Soul HQ’s creative network and regional expertise with Cinq Music’s global distribution and industry reach.
The deal extends Cinq Music’s activity in African music. Earlier this year, the company announced a partnership with C.R.E.A.M., Africa’s leading talent discovery platform founded by Nigerian music icon D’Banj, and acquired his catalog.
The first artists to release music globally through the Soul HQ partnership are Afro-R&B acts Xenia Manasseh, AYLØ, and Altair Saïd. Saïd’s single “So Easy” is the first official Soul HQ release via Cinq Music Group and is out today.
Faiza Hersi, founder of Soul HQ, said:
“It’s taken us years to build a solid foundation in Africa for African artists to compete on a global level across various genres, so it is undoubtedly a blessing to partner with Cinq Music and leverage their global expertise and infrastructure to propel African talent even further.”
