Artists and audience reconnect

Media personality Phindi Black attended the event and noted the strong turnout. “The vibe so far seems pretty good. So far, so good. I absolutely appreciate that people can still come out for hip-hop,” she said.

She also addressed the genre’s trajectory after the loss of influential figures, including rapper AKA. “I’m so glad that AKA didn’t die with hip-hop. We only multiply. Listen to what Mr Bully has put out. It’s Lapisa season. We’re out here,” Black said.

Braam Culture Fest’s broader mission

DJ Sbosh, who is involved with the Braam Culture Fest collective, explained that the initiative aims to unite different creative fields. “Braam Culture Fest is something that we came up with last year. We’re trying to plug into the culture, bringing everyone together through music, art, fashion, everything. Everything to evolve the culture, that’s us,” he said.

DJ Sbosh described his own work as spanning sports DJing, event creation, and other entrepreneurial activities, while remaining rooted in a love for music and the arts.

The Mr Bully Tour event in Braamfontein functioned as both a performance and a gathering space, allowing artists and audiences to interact beyond digital platforms.
