Sony Music Publishing UK and its joint venture partner One Two Many Songs have extended their exclusive worldwide publishing agreement with songwriter and producer Gianluca Buccellati. The agreement covers his entire catalogue and future works.
Publishing relationship continues
Buccellati said, “It was a no-brainer to extend my working relationship with OTM and Sony. Alex, Felix and the team I’ve nurtured a relationship with through my first term feel like family.”
Alex Sheridan, founder and chief executive of One Two Many Songs, said Buccellati was the first songwriter signed to its joint venture with Sony Music Publishing. Sheridan cited his subsequent chart results, including No. 1 records in the UK and Australia and a No. 7 position in the US.
Felix Canetty-Clarke welcomed the extension and expressed interest in Buccellati’s next projects. Canetty-Clarke is Sony Music Publishing’s vice president of commercial and artists and repertoire strategy in the UK, and artists and repertoire research in the UK and internationally.
Collaborations and award recognition
Buccellati’s credits span production, songwriting and releases with several artists:
- Arlo Parks: principal producer and co-writer on her debut album, Collapsed in Sunbeams.
- The Marías: a collaboration on “No One Noticed” and membership of the band’s side project, Not For Radio.
- beabadoobee: extensive contributions to Pylon, which reached No. 1 in the UK and Australia.
- Releases with Declan McKenna, Paris Texas, Biig Piig, Danielle Ponder, Tei Shi and Cailin Russo.
Buccellati has received Grammy and Ivor Novello nominations and won the Mercury Prize. In 2021, Parks’ Collapsed in Sunbeams won the Mercury Prize and the MOBO Award for Album of the Year.
The album also received a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Album and a BRIT Award nomination for Album of the Year. “Black Dog” was nominated for Best Song Musically and Lyrically at the Ivor Novello Awards.
Buccellati is managed by Rene Symonds and Jay Mighall at Accent Music.
