Suno has appointed Michael Chua as Vice President and General Manager of Suno Live Experiences, overseeing its live music business and concert discovery platform Songkick. The appointment puts Chua in charge of plans to connect concert discovery with the company’s artificial intelligence (AI) music platform and help emerging artists reach audiences through performances.

Chua’s role and experience

Chua previously held the position of Vice President of Global Business Development and Strategic Partnerships at Ticketmaster. During his 11 years there, he developed partnerships with Google, YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, TikTok and Snap.

His responsibilities at Suno include directing its live music strategy. The company’s plans include:

  • Connecting Songkick’s concert discovery services with Suno’s AI music platform.
  • Improving concert recommendations.
  • Helping emerging artists reach fans through live performances.

“As Suno builds tools that help musicians create, reach fans and build lasting careers, live music has to be part of that,” Chua said. “I see an incredible opportunity at Suno to help artists take a song from the first idea to the stage, and bring their fans along the whole way.”

Support for independent artists

Suno Chief Music Officer Paul Sinclair said the live music division would also support independent artists through Spark, its program for developing music projects and live performances.

“We’re building the first creative entertainment platform, and live music is a pivotal part of that,” Sinclair said. “A central focus of our live experiences team will be helping emerging artists, like those in our Spark programme, an incubator program designed to help independent artists bring their music projects to life and more easily create live experiences.”

Songkick acquisition and copyright cases

Suno purchased Songkick from Warner Music Group (WMG) in November 2025. The acquisition formed part of a licensing agreement that resolved WMG’s copyright lawsuit against Suno.

As Suno extends its business from AI music creation into concert discovery and artist development, it continues to face copyright litigation from major music companies, including Universal Music Group and Sony Music, despite licensing agreements with WMG and other industry partners.
