Tooth have signed a joint record and publishing agreement with Parlophone Records and Warner Chappell Music UK. The London indie band are preparing to release their next single, Take Me As I Am.

Band members and sound

Vocalist Tom Pollock and guitarist Ben Ashley formed Tooth after leaving school. Drummer Roy Lowe and bassist Charlie Arnison complete the line-up.

The group combine UK indie rock influences with the emotional intensity and shifting dynamics of Midwest emo. They have developed a grassroots following through live performances across the UK.

New single and headline shows

Take Me As I Am follows Tooth’s debut EP (extended play), Restless in Bloom, released earlier this year.

The band’s summer festival schedule included appearances at The Great Escape, 2000trees, Wilderness, and Reading & Leeds.

To mark the signing and single release, Tooth will play headline shows later this month at:

  • The Garage, London
  • The Wedgewood Rooms, Portsmouth
  • DUST, Brighton

Comments on the agreement

Tooth said: “We are honoured to be a new crop in such legendary musical pastures. Let’s dance!”

Jen Ivory, managing director of Parlophone Records, said:

“Tooth embodies everything that makes British guitar music so vibrant right now – between their explosive live shows and razor-sharp musical references, they’re primed for a breakthrough and are the kind of vital homegrown talent we love to nurture at Parlophone. I’m so happy to be working alongside our partners at Warner Chappell, as we look to build Tooth’s promising career.”

Amber Davis, senior vice president and head of A&R (artists and repertoire) at Warner Chappell Music UK, said:

“Tooth are evolving what it means to be in a guitar band with an adventurous songwriting style that sets them apart in today’s scene. Tom Booth, who recently joined the A&R team, has been instrumental in bringing them into Warner Chappell, and we’re delighted to be working with the band and our colleagues at Parlophone as Tooth start the next stage of their journey.”
