Aftershock Festival drew 180,000 fans to Sacramento, concluding a 2026 season in which Danny Wimmer Presents (DWP) recorded its highest attendance across its festivals.
Organizers said nearly 1.1 million fans attended the independent festival producer’s events during the year.
Attendance and Sacramento impact
Held October 1–4 at Discovery Park, the four-day festival hosted more than 140 bands on five stages. Aftershock is the West Coast’s largest rock, punk and metal festival.
Attendance rose from approximately 164,000 in 2025 to 180,000 in 2026. Organizers said visitors came from all 50 states and more than 30 countries, producing an estimated $40 million in local economic impact.
Largest lineup in festival’s history
For its 14th edition, Aftershock added a fifth stage, assembled its largest lineup to date and expanded camping options at nearby Cal Expo.
The headliners were:
- My Chemical Romance
- Limp Bizkit
- Pierce The Veil
- Tool
Other performers included The Offspring, Sublime, Wu-Tang Clan, A Day To Remember, BABYMETAL, Queens of the Stone Age and Danny Elfman.
DWP’s season and Sacramento agreement
DWP’s 2026 season also included Welcome to Rockville, Sonic Temple, Louder Than Life and Bourbon & Beyond.
Its two Louisville festivals, Louder Than Life and Bourbon & Beyond, attracted a combined 415,000 attendees in September.
Aftershock is expected back in Sacramento in October 2027. A 10-year agreement permits DWP to hold up to three multi-day festivals each year at Discovery Park through 2035.
