Bridges for Music says its charity cycle linked to Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) raised nearly £27,000 on the first day of its 10th edition. This year’s fundraising target is to pay for 100 students to attend the Bridges Academy in the coming year.
Around 40 riders, including actor Rosario Dawson and representatives of AlphaTheta, Resident Advisor, LabelWorx and Waterworks Festival, completed the opening 138km from London toward Amsterdam in heavy rain. The two-day ride coincides with ADE’s 30th anniversary.
Proceeds support the organization’s education programs in Langa Township, Cape Town, including the Bridges Academy and the Creative Club.
The organization says the previous nine editions raised more than £511,000, with over 400 riders taking part. That funding helped establish the two facilities, which together serve more than 300 young people annually through music education, mentorship and other services.
Founder and chief executive Valentino Barrioseta credited riders’ combined contributions over the event’s history with enabling the two schools to be built.
The organization’s 10th anniversary activities continue on October 22 with House of A, a day-long program at art’otel Amsterdam. Alongside ADE-related industry discussions and networking, the program features:
- Kususa
- Oskido
- Kalawa Jazmee
- Yamz

- Paradise Sound System
