David Bowie: Stage, an immersive arena show based on Bowie’s 1978 Isolar II tour, will premiere at Uber Arena Berlin on February 14, 2027. It is a collaboration between Wonderworld founder and former AEG Live President Rob Hallet, David Bowie’s estate and filmmaker Brett Morgen.

Morgen’s credits include Moonage Daydream, Montage of Heck and The Kid Stays in the Picture.

Berlin Premiere and Ticketing

The world premiere is held in association with the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale). Tickets go on sale at 9 AM on October 28.

Rob Hallet/Wonderworld presents the premiere and the tour that follows. The production team includes:

  • Production Director: John Pryer
  • Production Manager: George Doherty
  • Production Coordinator: Mia Cartwright
  • Media servers: Tom Wood
  • Suppliers: 24-7 Productions, Clair Audio and Frame Sync

“David Bowie has bestowed upon us an extraordinary treasure, an unprecedented concert experience that has yet to be witnessed. Working hand-in-hand with David Bowie’s Estate and Brett Morgen, we are ensuring this experience is 100% faithful to his legacy while making his genius accessible to global fans and a new generation,” said Hallet.

Global Tour Plans

Hallet said the show will then begin a global tour.

“After the Berlin show, the David Bowie: Stage show will embark on a landmark global tour, taking Bowie’s music, vision, and theatricality to the live markets of Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America, some of which never saw him perform. The production will introduce a new generation of fans to his extraordinary catalog, also returning to the countries that embraced him throughout his career, including the UK, Europe, North America, Japan, and Australia.”

Staging and Visuals

The visuals use Unilumin/Roe full-range transparent LED screens (70×40 displays). They are designed to create the illusion that Bowie and his band are physically present on stage.

The show is built for scale and will be staged in auditoriums and venues with capacities starting at 5,000.

Origins of the Project

Bowie conceived and produced Stage in 1978 during the Isolar II concerts at London’s Earls Court, in support of the album Heroes. The footage has gone untouched in the Bowie archives for almost 50 years, and the concerts are considered among the best live performances of his career.

Morgen found the original footage 10 years ago while working on Moonage Daydream. He and the Bowie estate began discussing a worldwide arena version of Stage as early as 2018, and the project moved forward in 2024 when Hallet, then recently departed from his role as AEG Live President of International, joined it.
