Spotify will hold its first Fresh Finds Summit in Los Angeles on November 4 and 5, bringing hundreds of emerging independent artists together for guidance on building music careers. The two-day event is for artists in its Fresh Finds Forward program.
The schedule includes masterclasses, live feedback on participants’ songs and conversations with artists, songwriters and executives. Sessions will address songwriting, touring, finances, team building, music videos, mental health and music curation.
Speakers include John Legend, Ryan Tedder, María Zardoya of The Marías and Not For Radio, Quinn XCII, JP Saxe, 8AE and Solly. Leaders from Backline, CAA, Good World and True Panther will also take part, alongside Spotify editors.
Spotify launched Fresh Finds Forward in September to provide resources, community and support to approximately 10,000 emerging independent artists each year. The program grew out of its Fresh Finds discovery platform, whose playlists have helped more than 80,000 artists across 127 countries gain exposure over the past decade.
Joe Hadley, Spotify’s Global Head of Music Content and Partnerships, said: “A Fresh Finds placement can be the moment an artist gets heard for the first time. The Summit brings Fresh Finds Forward to life in person, with two days of real, practical guidance from artists and industry leaders who’ve built lasting careers, shared with artists at a pivotal moment in their own.”
