New Master’s Degree Program Announced
A new master’s degree program concentrating on international music business has been created through a partnership between Rennes School of Business and EMIC, a French school specializing in management of creative industries.
Christian De Rosnay, manager of Justice, and Alexandra Pilz Hayot, manager of Gesaffelstein, are supporting the program. The degree will be taught in English and is scheduled to begin in September.
This program is the first of its kind in France. Comparable degrees in the United States and the United Kingdom typically focus on talent development within their own countries. This Master of Science program is designed to address the operational, technological, and strategic needs of developing music markets including LATAM, Asia, India, and MENA. A key learning objective for students will be understanding global music distribution.
The curriculum will consist of 200 hours of modules led by 11 industry executives. These include Jean-Christophe Bourgeois, General Manager at Sony Music Publishing France; Caroline Champarnaud, Executive Director International at Sacem; and Anne Hindermeyer, former Head of Legal at Believe. Antoine Monin, Managing Director of Spotify for Western Europe, will also deliver a masterclass session.
Applications are currently open, with a July 1 deadline for international students applying for the September 2026 intake. The program’s core focus will be the changing music industry landscape.
Daniel Findikian, Founder and Director of EMIC, stated: “With this incredible lineup of teaching staff, we are giving young talent from around the world direct access to the people shaping the market today, alongside the keys to building a lasting international career in the music business.” The program aims to prepare students for the future as music technology reshapes the creative economy.
