TikTok Introduces Keyword Optimisation Feature

TikTok has launched a new feature allowing users to manage keywords associated with their content, potentially improving audience reach.

On Thursday, June 18, TikTok announced a new content optimisation feature. The update allows users to directly manage the keywords assigned to their uploaded videos.

In addition to keywords automatically added by TikTok based on search trends, the feature enables creators to refine the terms associated with their content to better match user searches. The platform includes safeguards to prevent the addition of irrelevant, popular keywords solely for increased views.

To utilise the feature, creators can identify relevant search terms and trending topics within the inspiration section of TikTok Studio before uploading. During the upload process, users should review automatically assigned keywords, remove any that are unsuitable, and add more appropriate terms.

Approximately 50% of US consumers currently use TikTok as a search engine.
