An event took place in New York City last week celebrating the relationship between fashion and podcasting. Attendance focused on discussion and connection within these areas.
Data indicates fashion podcast audiences increased by 23 percent year-over-year in 2025. During the same period, streams of fashion podcasts rose by 68 percent, and searches for “fashion week” increased by 93 percent.
Fashion and culture creator Mina Le hosted the event, which featured a conversation with Mia Calabrese. The discussion covered fashion inspirations, Mia Calabrese’s style development, and the role of personal perspective in creative work.
Mina Le announced plans to add video episodes to her podcast, High Brow, this summer.
Mina Le stated that incorporating video can strengthen the connection between audiences and speakers, adding, “I think adding a face to a voice can deepen an audience’s connection to the speaker.” She also noted video’s potential for visual learners and its ability to offer clarity in podcasts with multiple speakers.
Le also discussed her plans for the visual presentation of the video podcast, saying, “I want to make it recognizable because…when I started High Brow, it was just me and my guest in my bedroom, sitting on my bed.” She expressed excitement about exploring production design and creating a dedicated space for the podcast.
Le described podcasts as offering a more relaxed environment for conversation, stating, “They’re definitely more candid…Podcasts offer a space that’s more casual, where you can say things a little bit more off the cuff and you can really be yourself.”
Mia Calabrese explained her approach to fashion trends, saying, “I like to keep up with the trends, but I don’t follow them just because they’re popular. I pay attention to what genuinely connects with me and filter everything else through my own perspective.”
Mina Le uses the platform’s search function for research, noting, “I like to know what people are talking about and what conversations have already been had.”
Mia Calabrese utilizes the platform to discover new music and cultural influences, saying, “I use Spotify to discover new artists, genres, and cultural influences through playlists, artist radios, and recommendations.”
