Spotify Adjusts Subscription Costs in India

Spotify has lowered the monthly cost of its Premium Standard and Student subscriptions in India by 30 percent. The price of the Premium Platinum tier remains unchanged.

In November 2025, Spotify introduced a three-tier subscription model for the Indian market.

This included the Premium Lite tier, which has since been discontinued.

The Premium Standard subscription now costs ₹139 (approximately $1.57) per month, a reduction from its previous price of ₹199 (approximately $2.24) per month.

At ₹139 per month, Premium Standard is now priced the same as the former Premium Lite tier.

The Student subscription has been reduced from ₹99 per month to ₹69 (approximately $0.78) per month.

The Premium Platinum tier continues to be offered at ₹299 (approximately $3.11) per month.

A Spotify spokesperson stated: “We occasionally adapt the plans we offer, based on market opportunity and to provide choice and value to users. In India, the Lite plan is no longer available. Spotify Lite users are being offered to move to Spotify to Raise US Subscription Prices Again Across All Plans at the same price.”
