Organisers of Scorpion Kings Live at FNB Stadium will release an additional 5,000 tickets on 25 June, following overwhelming demand for the 19 September concert headlined by DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small.
A limited number of hospitality packages will also be made available. When tickets first went on sale, more than 500,000 fans joined the online queue, according to the organisers.
The event is being billed as the largest amapiano concert staged to date. If the remaining allocation sells out, the show will rank among the highest-attended concerts ever held at the Johannesburg venue.
Organisers noted that DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small would become the first South African artists and the first amapiano performers to sell out a stadium of this scale.
“This is bigger than us. It’s bigger than one show. It’s about showing the world what South African music can do. To see so many fans supporting Amapiano at this level is something we never take for granted,” DJ Maphorisa said.
Kabza De Small added: “We’ve always believed in the music and in the people who support it. To be part of a moment like this, where piano is making history, is a blessing. We’re grateful to every fan who continues to grow with us.”
The final ticket allocation will be available from 25 June through Webtickets, Pick n Pay and Boxer stores nationwide. Hospitality suite packages will be sold separately via MyTicket.
