South African electronic music producer and DJ Shimza has released a new three-track EP, ‘Sunset in Pretoria’, through his independent label Kunye. The project arrived on 19 June 2026, shortly after the launch of his residency at the iconic Pacha Ibiza nightclub in Spain.

The EP features collaborations with producer Demayä, vocalist Thatohatsi, producer Jnr SA and singer Jabulani Majola. Across its three tracks, the release explores Afro House and South African electronic influences through a blend of melodic, rhythmic and vocal elements.

The title track, ‘Sunset in Pretoria’, is an instrumental collaboration with Demayä, who has links to France and Dubai, combining melodic house textures with Afro House rhythms. ‘uMa Wami’ brings together Thatohatsi and Jnr SA, layering vocal performances and harmonies from different corners of the country’s contemporary electronic scene. Thatohatsi’s appearance follows a period of commercial success marked by strong streaming numbers and chart placements in South Africa. The EP closes with ‘Entle’, featuring Jabulani Majola, a track that incorporates live vocal elements and a gradual arrangement building to a climactic finish.

The release arrives as Afro House continues to attract growing international audiences, with South African artists increasingly appearing on global festival line-ups and electronic music platforms. A series of live events supporting the project and the broader Kunye brand have been scheduled. ‘Sunset in Pretoria’ is now available on major digital streaming and download platforms.
