Weeks after securing its first institutional funding round, Indian music distribution and publishing company Madverse Music Group has launched version 2.0 of its platform, consolidating release, promotion, and monetisation tools for independent artists and labels.
The investment was led by Ahdritz Capital, the firm founded by Kobalt founder and chairman Willard Ahdritz.
Subscription tiers and royalty overhaul
Madverse v2.0 upgrades its two core plans. The Creator tier, aimed at emerging artists, is priced at Rs299 per month (with an introductory rate of Rs99 for the first month). The Professional tier, designed for established solo acts and labels managing multiple artists, costs Rs3,999 per year.
Both plans now allow artists to retain 100% of their royalties, a shift from the previous 85% and 95% splits. Professional subscribers also gain release protection, which keeps songs live on digital service providers (DSPs) even if a subscription lapses, and access to live chat support.
“Our biggest learning has been around the kind of support artists need,” said Rohan Jain, founder and CEO of Madverse. “At a certain stage in their career, they need instant support and someone to give them more context, as the distribution game is highly nuanced. Other distributors are moving towards AI chat bots, which may work in western markets, but emerging markets like India still need human support because of the overall lack of music business education.”
Unlimited video distribution
The platform also introduces an optional add-on for music video distribution. Previously priced per individual release, the feature is now available as an annual subscription with unlimited uploads.
“DSPs like Spotify and Apple Music are pushing music videos as a core product now for better fan engagement,” Jain said. “We felt artists should have unlimited access.”
