South African artist Makhadzi’s latest single, “Tsotsi” (Episode 2), has surpassed 1 million views on YouTube within five days of its release. The video reached 1.1 million views by the fourth day.

The track was released as a collaboration between Makhadzi Entertainment and Ba Bethe Gashoazen. It arrived at midnight on Makhadzi’s 30th birthday, presented as a gift to her fans, the Khadzinators, rather than a personal celebration.

On social media, Makhadzi thanked supporters for the milestone and highlighted the upcoming Big 30 EP (extended play), scheduled for 31 July 2026.

“Tsotsi” combines the Lekompo sound with Amapiano rhythms. Its lyrics tell a humorous story centred on lobola negotiations, a traditional practice in many South African communities.

Shortly after the release, TikTok users began posting dance challenges and lip-sync videos featuring the track, which helped direct new viewers to the official music video on YouTube.

Makhadzi is also preparing for a One Woman Show and Big 30 Celebration at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on 24 December 2026.
