The Alien Sound Festival in Naples was postponed after strong winds caused its main stage to collapse during construction on the weekend of July 4–5. No injuries were reported.
Footage shared on social media showed the stage structure giving way mid-build as gusts swept through the city. Lighting towers and other on-site structures also fell.
Organisers initially aimed to proceed with the two-day event, but local authorities ordered a postponement. The festival will now take place as a single-day event on July 23 at its regular venue, a former NATO base in the Bagnoli district.
Tickets already purchased remain valid for the new date. Refunds will be available from July 24 through the original point of purchase.
In a statement, the festival said:
“We know how much this situation may have caused inconvenience and disappointment. However, we would like to assure you that we did everything in our power to allow the festival to take place on the originally scheduled dates. We thank you for the trust, patience and support you continue to show us.”
The lineup had included GORDO and Ozuna among the scheduled performers.
Weather disrupts festivals across Europe
The Alien Sound Festival is the latest event to be affected by severe weather. Recent disruptions include:
- Defqon.1 in the Netherlands was cancelled last week after an unprecedented extreme heat warning. Over 350 hardstyle and hard dance acts, including Brennan Heart, Showtek, Sub Zero Project, Angerfist, Hysta, Anime and Miss K8, were booked to perform.
- Earlier this summer, the opening day of Primavera Sound’s 2026 edition was hit by severe weather, forcing the cancellation of sets by Massive Attack, Doja Cat, Bad Gyal and others.
