Warner Music Group (WMG) has elevated Tom Corson to Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately, as Armin Zerza vacates the role for personal reasons. Corson, previously Co-Chairman and COO of Warner Records, will report directly to WMG CEO Robert Kyncl.
WMG said Corson will apply his “deep domain expertise and operational rigor” across the entire company. His expanded purview includes global marketing, merchandising, direct-to-consumer operations, and supply chain management. He will continue at Warner Records during a transitional period alongside Co-Chairman and CEO Aaron Bay-Schuck.
Corson joined Warner Records as Co-Chairman and COO in 2018. Before that, he served as President and COO of RCA Music Group.
Zerza, who held the dual role of CFO and COO, is stepping down for personal reasons but will remain available to the company through the end of the fiscal year. Lou Dickler, Senior Vice President, Global Controller and Chief Accounting Officer, will serve as Acting CFO while a permanent successor is sought.
Kyncl praised Zerza as “an instrumental leader and member of the executive team during a crucial period of growth and transformation.”
