AI-generated music now accounts for more than half of all daily uploads to Deezer, the Paris-based streaming service confirmed. During a peak in June, the platform averaged 90,000 synthetic tracks delivered each day, marking the first time machine-created recordings have overtaken human-made uploads.
Deezer said the volume of generative AI music has exceeded 50% of its daily new-music deliveries. In response, the company will remove AI-generated tracks used to produce fraudulent streams, as well as those that have not been played for six months or more.
The company launched its in-house AI detection tool in January 2025 and, in June, became the first streaming platform to explicitly label AI-generated music. To date, it has detected and tagged more than 13.4 million such tracks.
Deezer has been at the frontline of fighting fraud and reducing payment dilution related to AI music for almost two years. Now that half of all daily uploads are AI-generated tracks, we are taking additional steps to safeguard the rights of artists and songwriters, while maintaining focus on music that fans actually love. We have reached a pivotal moment, but we have the technology to keep track of the development, and an ambition to do what’s right.
