Amazon has renamed its monthly ebook subscription service Kindle Unlimited as Kindle+, allowing subscribers to switch between reading an ebook and listening to its audiobook at no extra charge.

The service retains its existing subscription terms and access across Kindle e-readers and the Kindle app:

  • A monthly subscription price of $11.99.
  • Borrowing access to up to 20 titles per month in the United States.
  • The ability to move between ebook reading and audiobook listening.

Amazon has also updated its Kindle hardware. All new models have an edge-to-edge display, with the bevelled edges removed.

The base six-inch Kindle, priced at $50, opens books faster and includes the new display. Its power button has been repositioned to reduce accidental shutdowns during reading.

Amazon is also introducing Kindle Click, a Bluetooth remote that lets readers turn pages. It works with all Kindle models released in 2024 and later.
