BandBridge Automates Bandcamp Merch Orders Through Printful

BandBridge connects Bandcamp merchandise orders with Printful to automate order entry, product matching and shipping updates.

BandBridge, a tool developed by Leonid Godnik, automates the transfer of merchandise orders from Bandcamp to Printful. It handles tasks that sellers otherwise complete manually because Bandcamp has no native Printful integration.

Godnik built the tool for a friend, an underground musician who had spent years copying customer details, addresses and product sizes into Printful, paying for orders and returning tracking numbers to Bandcamp. The musician has used BandBridge for nine months without manually copying an order.

Matching products and addresses

Manual processing requires sellers to match Bandcamp item options with Printful variants, each of which has its own name and identifier. A size might appear on Bandcamp as “L”, “Large”, “Black / L” or “Women’s fit L”, creating opportunities for incorrect size or colour selections.

A mapping table can pair each Bandcamp item and option with its corresponding Printful variant. Consistent names across both services and adding mappings before a release can help prevent errors.

Address formatting also requires attention. Bandcamp collects addresses as buyers enter them, while Printful’s API (application programming interface) expects state and country codes, such as CA for California and NSW for New South Wales. Full state names can cause orders to be rejected or delayed, and destinations including the US, Canada and Australia require attention to state or province details.

Combining orders and checking shipments

Reviewing open orders from the previous day or two can identify purchases from the same buyer at the same address that could share a Printful order. Waiting a few hours before submission can allow sellers to combine purchases and avoid separate parcels and shipping charges.

Printful also supports draft orders, which incur no cost and do not enter production until confirmed. Sellers can check uncertain variants or addresses in the dashboard before approving printing.

Once an order ships, its tracking number needs to be entered in Bandcamp. Marking the order shipped triggers the buyer’s shipping email and tracking link while keeping the seller’s order list current.

What BandBridge automates

Bandcamp sellers can request access to its Merch Orders API and receive individual keys. Printful provides a public API, with stores able to create their own tokens.

BandBridge uses these connections to:

  • Read new Bandcamp merchandise orders and match items to Printful variants, requesting clarification when a match is uncertain.
  • Convert state and country names into codes.
  • Combine orders from the same buyer into one parcel.
  • Submit Printful orders as drafts or confirmed orders.
  • Mark Bandcamp orders shipped and add tracking numbers.

The tool leaves store products and prices unchanged, and sellers continue paying Printful directly.

BandBridge is opening a test group for 20 artists and labels selling Printful merchandise through Bandcamp. Participation is free during testing in exchange for feedback.
