ASCAP has partnered with Project Healthy Minds to help its more than 1.1 million songwriter, composer and music publisher members find mental health care and wellness services. Announced November 5, the offering is available now through ASCAP’s Member Access portal.

How members can use the platform

The confidential digital platform connects members with therapy, psychiatry, peer-led support groups and wellness resources. Options include virtual and in-person consultations, meditation apps and other self-care tools. Members can complete personalized assessments to find services suited to their needs.

Current ASCAP writer and publisher members can access the platform at no additional cost, although individual providers and services may charge separately.

“Music creators put their everything into the music we love, yet trying to find quality, affordable support shouldn’t feel like everything is stacked against them in an opaque healthcare system,” said ASCAP Executive Vice President Nick Lehman.

Part of ASCAP’s existing program

The partnership expands ASCAP’s Wellness Program, launched in 2019. Its existing benefits include telehealth services through MD Live and partnerships with BetterHelp, Aaptiv and Daily Burn.

Lehman will join Cheryl “Salt” James of Salt-N-Pepa and singer-songwriter MILCK at the upcoming jump.global Summit in Los Angeles on November 10 for a discussion about empathy, creator well-being and relationships between artists and music executives.
