Avex Music Group, the music arm of entertainment conglomerate Avex Inc., has increased its stake in diversified music company S10 Entertainment to 85%. The agreement aims to take that to 100% over time. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Silverstein’s expanded role
Brandon Silverstein is CEO of both Avex Music Group and S10. He will keep both roles and also serve as a board member and equity partner in Avex. His remit now widens to Avex’s global strategy across recorded music, publishing, live entertainment, touring and investments.
How the relationship developed
Avex acquired S10’s publishing catalog in March 2025, when Silverstein became CEO of Avex. Since then the company has signed Bruno Mars for publishing and launched a $100 million publishing acquisition program.
Katsumi Kuroiwa, CEO of Avex Inc.: “S10 is an exceptional management company that is playing a key role in realizing our global ambitions. Bringing S10 into Avex reflects our confidence in Brandon’s leadership and our commitment to growing Avex’s global music business. Together, we will bring the full breadth of Avex’s capabilities to artists and creators around the world.”
Silverstein: “S10 began with a belief in exceptional talent and what we could build around it. I’m proud of what our artists, songwriters and team have accomplished, and grateful to the partners who helped us get here. This next chapter is an opportunity to build on that work at a greater scale with Avex, investing in talent, developing new businesses, and creating more opportunities across markets.”
