Band of Skulls have signed with FLG Records, the rock and alternative imprint of Frontiers Label Group, as they prepare new music with a changed line-up. The band also have plans for a deluxe box set celebrating their first three albums.

Russell Marsden said the partnership would support the band’s next recordings and continued relationship with fans.

“I’m thrilled to be working with Frontiers Label Group as we move into an exciting new chapter for the band. We’re focused on what’s ahead – creating new music, building on the connection we have with our fans, and continuing to evolve while staying true to the sound they love. Their support continues to drive us forward, and we can’t wait for them to hear what’s next.”

Label partnership and live representation

Kent Sorrell, manager at Elevation Group, Inc., said FLG shared the band’s vision and would help bring their music to listeners internationally. He also identified the band’s live agents:

  • Dave Kaplan and Bruce Solar at Paladin Artists for the United States and North America.
  • Stuart Vallans at Trust Artists for the United Kingdom and Europe.

Leo Nicholas, Frontiers Label Group’s UK managing director, welcomed the opportunity to work with Russell and Iona.

Southampton origins and new material

Formed in Southampton in 2004, the band first performed as Fleeing New York, adopting the name Band of Skulls in 2008. Their music combines alternative, indie and blues rock, with guitar riffs and dual vocal harmonies.

Their first three albums were:

  • Baby Darling Doll Face Honey (2009), featuring “I Know What I Am” and “Death By Diamonds And Pearls.”
  • Sweet Sour (2012).
  • Himalayan (2014), produced by Nick Launay.

Band of Skulls have toured with Muse, Queens of the Stone Age, Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Black Keys. Their festival and television appearances include Coachella, Glastonbury, Late Show with David Letterman and Later… with Jools Holland.

Their music has also appeared in film and television, including The Twilight Saga films. At a recent Southampton homecoming show, Marsden introduced the new line-up and previewed forthcoming material, alongside plans for the deluxe box set.
