Sony Music Entertainment Africa has consolidated Amanda Black‘s full discography under its label, coinciding with the fifth anniversary of her sophomore album Mnyama. The company also presented the singer with an award recognizing that her catalogue has surpassed 200 million streams.
Released in 2021, Mnyama includes tracks such as “Kutheni Na” featuring Kwesta and “Ungayeki” featuring Berita. The move brings all of Black’s recorded work into the Sony Music Africa fold.
At an in-office event, Sony Music Africa honoured Black with flowers, a commemorative cake, and a milestone award. The award acknowledges the catalogue’s achievement of exceeding 200 million streams.
“Today is a celebration of an extraordinary artist whose music has become part of the soundtrack of so many people’s lives,” said Refiloe Ramogase. “As we celebrate five years of Mnyama, we are equally proud to officially welcome Amanda Black’s complete catalogue to Sony Music Entertainment Africa. This is an important milestone that reflects our commitment to preserving and growing the legacy of one of South Africa‘s most impactful artists.”
