Jim Selby, President of Global Music Publishing at BMG, has been elected to the board of directors of ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers). He will serve as a publisher member alongside representatives from songwriting and composing.
ASCAP is the only American PRO (performance rights organization) with a board elected by its membership.
Selby assumed his current BMG role after BMG’s merger with Concord. He previously served as Chief Publishing Officer at Concord. During the merger, he led the integration of publishing operations across North America, the United Kingdom, Europe, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific.
Earlier in his career, Selby was chairman of the board of the American Association of Independent Music (A2IM).
