Monstercat and Westwood Recordings have formed a joint venture that will give Westwood funding, personnel and access to Monstercat’s global infrastructure, including its presence in gaming.

Westwood founder Nick Middleton will continue to lead the Canadian electronic label. The agreement will support its expansion into new artists and genres and the launch of a publishing arm.

Westwood’s roster includes:

  • Big Gigantic
  • Dirtwire
  • Moontricks
  • Cut Chemist

The agreement follows Create Music Group’s acquisition of Monstercat in 2025. Its $50 million investment in Monstercat at the time helped secure the Westwood deal.

“After more than a decade of running Westwood independently, I know how much the right support can mean for an artist or a record,” Middleton said.

Daniel Turcotte, Monstercat’s president, said: “Nick has a real talent for discovering and developing artists, and he’s done an incredible job of that with Westwood.”
