Peermusic has acquired Sydney-based 120 Publishing, adding approximately 5,000 works and 120,000 administered copyrights to its publishing business. The company has also appointed 120 Publishing General Manager Karen Hamilton as Managing Director, Peermusic Australasia.
Financial terms were not disclosed. Hamilton has more than 30 years of industry experience spanning artist and repertoire, copyright, royalties and licensing.
120 Publishing works with dance and electronic music writers, producers and topliners, including on collaborations between local writers and international artists. It also represents K-pop and J-pop writers and serves as a sub-publisher for international catalogs in Australia and New Zealand.
Peermusic CEO Mary Megan Peer described the acquisition as a continuation of the company’s investment in Australasian repertoire. She said Hamilton has experience developing writers’ careers in Australia and internationally.
