PRS for Music (the UK performing right society) has named Ben McOwen Wilson as its next chief executive, effective 12 October. He succeeds Andrea Czapary Martin.
McOwen Wilson joins from YouTube and Google Play, where he led operations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). His earlier career includes launching digital platforms for UEFA and chairing the UK broadcasters’ video-on-demand initiative Project Kangaroo. He has also contributed to the Creative Industries Council and the Creative Industries Federation, focusing on intellectual property, innovation and growth.
PRS for Music said his experience building partnerships across complex digital ecosystems, combined with work alongside rights holders, broadcasters, creators and policymakers, positions him to guide the organisation as AI, gaming, digital platforms and new music consumption models reshape the industry.
