Rocketship is offering a free first song analysis designed to identify potential listeners before commercial release, giving independent artists audience data to inform release and marketing decisions.
The platform uses artificial intelligence (AI) to assess unreleased recordings across 80 audio, lyrical and contextual parameters, rather than relying on streaming results or social media metrics after release.
Its co-founders are Maxwell Zotz, whose background includes Verge Campus and MAX.Live, and technology entrepreneur Billy Rodgers of Fanpage.
Rocketship spent four months in beta, incorporating feedback from more than 100 executives working across labels, publishing, management and distribution.
The company describes its service as the first AI-driven platform capable of identifying a song’s potential audience before commercial release. It aims to make data-informed artists and repertoire (A&R) tools available to independent creators worldwide.
With an estimated 100,000 new tracks reaching streaming platforms daily, Rocketship combines strategy and creative execution in one workflow. Its stated applications include:
- Helping managers assess which songs to release as singles.
- Supporting publishers with predictive song-to-artist pitching.
- Helping catalog owners identify listener segments with untapped revenue potential.
