Samsung Responds to Dua Lipa’s Lawsuit

Samsung, the South Korean technology company, has addressed a lawsuit brought by Dua Lipa, who is seeking $15 million in damages. The suit alleges the company utilized her image on television packaging without obtaining necessary permissions or providing compensation.

According to a statement, Samsung used the image in 2025 “to reflect the content of our third-party partners that is available on Samsung TVs.”

The company further stated the image was originally supplied by a partner providing content for Samsung TV Plus, its free streaming service. Samsung reports it received assurances from this partner that appropriate authorization for image usage had been obtained.

Consequently, Samsung denies “any allegations of intentional misuse.” This situation highlights ongoing Music Industry News: New Releases and Legal Actions.

The company expressed “great respect” for Dua Lipa and the intellectual property rights of all artists, adding that it “actively sought and remain open to a constructive resolution with Ms. Lipa’s team.”
