Quote and economic context

“Last year proved there was a real appetite for a festival of this scale in Lagos,” Deola Art Alade, co-founder and group CEO of The 360Co, said. “This year we’re building on that momentum, not just by growing the festival, but by creating more opportunities for artists, brands and audiences to experience the best of African culture together.”

The festival sits within the wider Detty December period, a major cultural and economic season in Lagos. A report from MO Africa Company, The Economics of Euphoria: Lagos’ Detty December 2025, estimated that the 2025 season generated ₦396.5 billion (about $291 million) in consumer spending across Lagos and drew visitors from Nigeria and the diaspora.

The Federal Government has also set up a Presidential Task Force to coordinate aviation, tourism, security and electricity during the December influx.

Detty December Fest 2026 will include concerts, DJ-led events, emerging-artist showcases, food and lifestyle activations, brand experiences and family-oriented attractions. Planned elements include:

The festival is produced by Livespot, which has previously organised major live entertainment events in Africa, including Cardi B’s first performances in Nigeria and Ghana.
