Spotify plans to bring its audiobook service to at least 180 markets by year-end, up from 22. It also announced individual podcast memberships that users can purchase separately from Spotify Premium.

The audiobook catalogue includes more than 350,000 titles performed in over 120 languages. The expansion will make the service available to 750 million people.

Audiobooks+, one of Spotify’s audiobook listening options, has more than a million subscribers.

For podcast memberships, creators will determine the benefits listeners receive. Options can include:

  • Exclusive content and bonus episodes
  • Early access to episodes
  • Access to archives
  • Commenter status badges

Podcast memberships will be available to both free users and paying subscribers, with no Spotify Premium subscription required.
