Beatport Launches Track Identification Feature

Beatport has released a new function within its mobile app designed to identify music playing in a user’s surroundings.

Beatport, a platform serving DJs and the dance music community, has announced the availability of a new feature called Track ID.

The Track ID function identifies music being played in the surrounding environment, and can recognise tracks even after they have been altered.

According to the company, this tool is designed to accurately identify songs even when modified with effects or mixed with other audio.

The function is integrated into the Beatport mobile application, and identified tracks are saved to a user’s history within the app.

Users can then stream the identified track, add it to Beatport playlists, or purchase it through the Beatport store.

The software was developed to identify tracks playing in venues like clubs, where DJs frequently modify the audio. Track ID uses artificial intelligence to process and clarify audio, allowing it to recognise songs despite alterations such as tempo changes created through pitch-shifting.

This information is based on a press release issued by Beatport.
