PRS Foundation has announced the latest recipients of the PPL Momentum Music Fund, which provides grants of £5,000 to £15,000 to UK artists at a key stage in their careers. A separate round of support will go to music creators and industry professionals based in Wales.

Artists named in the latest Music Fund round include Cameo Blush, Vower, Jasmine Jethwa, BLACKGOLD, ROZZZQWEEN and Amelia Coburn. Vower said: “Receiving the PPL Momentum Music Fund allows us to invest even further into our debut album campaign and make the biggest impact possible at such a crucial stage in our career.”

The Music Fund is managed by PRS Foundation in partnership with PPL, the Welsh Government through Creative Wales, and Arts Council of Northern Ireland. Its grants are intended for artists who already have a team and are ready for the next stage of their careers.

The Wales-based PPL Momentum Sbardun | Accelerator programme, run in partnership with Arts Council of Wales, is supporting four music creators in this round. Accelerator grants of up to £5,000 are available to artists with a growing fanbase who are working to establish an industry team. Two Wales-based industry professionals will also receive support of up to £2,000, which can include grants, mentoring or other career development assistance.

Five artists who first received Accelerator support later qualified for and received Music Fund grants: Lucas Alexander, LEMFRECK, Luke RV, Downtown Kayoto and Chiedu Oraka. Since PPL became the Music Fund’s headline sponsor in February 2020, 277 music creators have received support. PRS Foundation and Arts Council England established the fund in 2013; Arts Council England supported it through 2018.
