AEG says fans spend most of their live event budgets beyond admission, including on travel, food and merchandise. The finding leads a set of live music industry updates spanning sponsor activity, a ticketing lawsuit and November deadlines.

AEG survey tracks spending and sponsors

AEG’s The Live Effect 2026 surveyed more than 12,000 attendees across four countries. Of those surveyed, 80% said the atmosphere at a live event cannot be replaced, and 79% were eager to repeat their purchases.

More than 56% reported better recall of event sponsors than traditional ads. The survey also found that 74% made purchasing decisions and 87% took action after exposure to a brand at an event.

Live Nation earnings and ticketing case

Live Nation is scheduled to release its third-quarter 2026 financial results on Thursday, November 5, followed by an earnings call at 2 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, or 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and seven participating states have requested a jury trial in their BOTS Act lawsuit against Live Nation and Ticketmaster. Filed on October 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, the request does not establish whether a jury will hear the case or set a trial date. The FTC and states have proposed April 2028; Live Nation and Ticketmaster have requested October 2028.

November dates for live music professionals

ECCHO Live will hold a free event on November 11 for professionals in touring, production, venues and vendor services. Its workshop will offer 14 breakout sessions on subjects including crisis leadership, artificial intelligence in touring, freelance income and rest while traveling.

Founded in Nashville in 2011 as Touring Career Workshop, the nonprofit provides free mental health and financial wellness programs throughout the year.

Pollstar has set November 11 as the box office reporting deadline for its 2026 Year-End Issue. The reporting period covers ticketed events from November 13, 2025, through November 11, 2026. Those figures will appear in the issue dated January 2027 and inform its quarterly recaps, Global Concert Pulse, LIVE75 and Artist Power Index weekly charts. An online reporting form is available at update.pollstar.com.
