A series of notable jazz and Latin music performances are scheduled at London venues this summer, featuring veteran Jamaican pianist Monty Alexander, Brazilian singer-pianist Eliane Elias, and Afro-Colombian ensemble Pambelé.
Jazz at Ronnie Scott’s
Monty Alexander will appear at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in Soho on Monday 22 June and Tuesday 23 June. Tickets remain available for one of the Monday shows and both Tuesday performances.
Eliane Elias, a former Blue Note artist and Steps Ahead keyboardist, is booked for Wednesday 15 July and Tuesday 16 July at the same venue.
Latin and Electronic Sounds at Fox & Firkin
Under the Movimientos banner, a day-to-night party on Saturday 4 July will feature DJ sets from Nickodemus, El Búho, and Chancha Vía Circuito. Nickodemus’s electronic sound, rooted in Latin, African, and Eastern instrumentation, will complement the live acts and other DJs on the bill.
Afro-Colombian Rhythms in August
The France-based, seven-piece Afro-Colombian band Pambelé will perform at the Fox & Firkin on Sunday 30 August. The group’s album Dámelo was released earlier this year.
