Tomorrowland has booked pioneering Cameroonian funk and disco musician Eko Roosevelt for a rare live set at this year’s festival, marking his first public performance since 2022 and making him the oldest artist ever to appear at the event, according to organisers.

Rare festival appearance

Roosevelt is scheduled to play the Melodia Stage on Friday, 24 July 2026. His last live appearance was at Uganda’s Nyege Nyege Festival in 2022.

Between 1976 and 1981, Roosevelt released nine albums and collaborated with artists including Manu Dibango and Francis Bebey. He later served as director of the National Orchestra of Cameroon. His music fuses synth-heavy funk with Cameroonian soul, incorporating traditional African elements and dancefloor-oriented production.

In 2020, UK duo Disclosure remixed his track ‘Tondoho Mba’ for the deluxe edition of their album ‘Energy’.

Now in his late 70s, Roosevelt has held a chieftaincy role in his hometown of La Lobé, Cameroon since 1998.

Reissues and new video

Two of Roosevelt’s 1981 singles, ‘Phone Me Tonight’ and ‘Lobé Mon Ami’, will be reissued on 3 July via the newly launched label Delirious Ears. A music video for ‘Phone Me Tonight’, filmed at the Lobé Waterfalls with members of his local community, has also been released.

Tomorrowland 2026 line-up

Roosevelt joins a bill that includes the following main stage acts:

  • David Guetta
  • Martin Garrix
  • Fisher
  • Miss Monique
  • Hardwell
  • Indira Paganotto
  • Chase & Status
  • Armin van Buuren
  • Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike

Calvin Harris is also set to make his Tomorrowland debut this year.

In June, organisers confirmed the return of the Tomorrowland Avicii tribute experience. The festival was cleared to proceed in 2026 after a safety review prompted by a fire that destroyed the main stage during last year’s edition.
