The Orchard, the distribution and artist and label services company owned by Sony Music, has promoted KGV Kiran Kumar to Managing Director, India & Middle East.
Kumar joined The Orchard in 2021 as Country Head, India. He was subsequently named Managing Director, India, with oversight of operations in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. His new role extends that remit to include the Middle East.
Before joining The Orchard, Kumar spent two-and-a-half years at Believe, most recently serving as Distribution Director, India. His earlier career spanned banking, telecom, and technology.
In a statement shared on LinkedIn, Kumar said: “The Middle East is home to a rich and diverse musical landscape, and I’m looking forward to spending time understanding its artists, cultures, audiences, and industry dynamics. My hope is to apply some of the lessons we’ve learned in India where relevant, while remaining a student of the region and its unique creative ecosystem.”
