South African singer Vusi Nova has postponed the launch event for his Here To Stay EP, citing safety concerns linked to planned nationwide demonstrations. The rescheduled event will take place on 24 July 2026, while the EP itself remains on track for its 1 July release.

Safety Fears Prompt Schedule Change

The decision follows growing public attention around the March and March movement, which has called for protests focused on immigration enforcement and border security across the country. Nova and his team assessed the risks and concluded that holding the original event could compromise the safety of attendees, performers, and staff.

In an Instagram statement posted Monday, the artist said the choice was made after careful consultation. “The well-being of everyone involved comes first,” he wrote, adding that he was disappointed but resolute about the postponement.

EP Release and Ticket Information

Despite the event delay, the Here To Stay EP will still arrive on 1 July 2026 as planned. Nova encouraged fans to use the extra time to familiarise themselves with the new material ahead of the rescheduled performance.

  • Original event date: Postponed
  • New event date: 24 July 2026
  • Venue: Unchanged
  • Tickets: Remain valid for the new date

Events Sector Adjusts to Civic Unrest

The postponement reflects a wider trend of event organisers in South Africa recalibrating plans in response to shifting civic conditions. The March and March movement has prompted heightened security measures in several regions, creating uncertainty for large public gatherings.

Nova expressed gratitude to his supporters for their patience and maintained an optimistic outlook for the July event. “We will make it a stronger, more memorable experience,” he said.
