French hi-res music streaming service Qobuz has overhauled its audio player, adding real-time synchronised lyrics and a persistent mini-player that remains on screen while users browse the app.
The redesign, which the company describes as “more intuitive, immersive, and informative,” brings Qobuz in line with larger DSPs (digital service providers) that have long offered similar features. Lyric translations are also now displayed alongside tracks.
Qobuz recently reported 1.2 million monthly active users and a 45.7% jump in revenues for 2025. The revamped app strengthens discovery tools: a new Explore section surfaces similar artists, albums, radio stations, and playlists. Editorial content, including reviews, artist interviews, and long-form features, is now accessible directly from the player, linked to the music it accompanies.
The company has also expanded its geographic footprint, launching its hi-res streaming service in Japan.
