Arca streamed a live performance of her entire forthcoming album, ‘XXXXX’, from an abandoned factory in Barcelona on Thursday, July 23. The two-hour broadcast, titled Diva.Experimental, aired on YouTube and Twitch ahead of the 16-track record’s release on Friday, July 31.

Directed by Daniel Sannwald, with lighting design by Matiere Noire, the event featured the artist moving through the full tracklist. Two songs from the stream, ‘Fxck’ and the closing track ‘Sueño’, have been archived and are available to view online.

During ‘Fxck’, Arca performed while covered in red, blood-like paint and spray-painted a canvas on the floor. ‘Sueño’ was staged against a concrete backdrop with red lighting and drone-operated spotlights.

Arca revealed details of ‘XXXXX’ earlier this week. It marks her first full-length release since 2021’s ‘Kick IIIII’, the final chapter of her ‘KICK’ album series. Earlier this year, she shared a remix of Robyn’s single ‘Sexistential’. Arca also appeared in Madonna’s short film Confessions II – The Film, a 14-minute visual accompaniment to the album of the same name, alongside Shygirl, Honey Dijon, and Cole Palmer. She is credited as a co-producer on the Madonna album.
