BandLab has launched BandLab for Education 2.0, a major update to its classroom-oriented music creation platform that delivers a revamped digital audio workstation (DAW) and new tools for teachers and students.

The platform costs $2.50 per student per year, with free-access options for eligible schools.

What’s new in version 2.0

  • A redesigned recording and production DAW built to run “lighter and faster” on typical student laptops.
  • A new file format that simplifies how teachers create and manage assignments.
  • Standalone metronome and tuner tools for practice.
  • Updated support for the latest privacy regulations covering schools in the US and other countries.

“Since launching BandLab for Education in 2018, we’ve learned what schools, teachers and students want, and with 2.0 we’ve gone further than ever to deliver it,” said Meng Ru Kuok, CEO of BandLab.
