Spotify has launched its Reserved ticketing feature for premium subscribers in the United States, with singer-songwriter Role Model becoming the first artist to use the tool.

Announced at Spotify’s investor day last month, Reserved identifies an artist’s “most dedicated fans” and holds two tickets for them. Eligible users receive email and push notifications inviting them to complete the purchase. The rollout is underpinned by an exclusive agreement with Live Nation and Ticketmaster.

In a blog post, Spotify stated: “We designed Reserved to give you options, so you can buy tickets for any eligible date on the tour, not just the show closest to you. Reserved allocations include a range of seating and prices, and specific availability varies by show.”

Fans have a purchase window of “around a day,” though Spotify encourages acting quickly to secure preferred dates, locations, and seats. Connecting Spotify and Ticketmaster accounts in advance can speed up the checkout process.
