BMI, a performance rights organization, has launched BMI Health Connect, a free service that links its U.S.-based songwriters and composers with insurance advisors to help them identify health coverage options.
The program, developed with Gallagher Alternative Health Solutions, is built for variable income, self-employment, and non-traditional work situations. It offers one-on-one guidance to match coverage to individual needs, circumstances, and budgets.
How BMI Health Connect works
BMI affiliates are connected with Gallagher insurance advisors for one-on-one consultations. After assessing an individual’s situation, advisors draw from a portfolio of hundreds of on-exchange and off-exchange plans, present available options, and assist with enrollment.
Gallagher operates as an independent advisor and is not tied to a single carrier, so it does not steer affiliates toward a particular plan.
- One-on-one consultations with Gallagher advisors
- Access to hundreds of on-exchange and off-exchange plans
- Enrollment support during Open Enrollment windows
Availability
BMI Health Connect is available now for exploring healthcare options. Enrollment in a health insurance plan can take place during designated Open Enrollment windows.
Mike O’Neill, CEO of BMI, said:
“Supporting our music creators is at the heart of everything we do at BMI. We know first-hand from our affiliates that finding the right healthcare coverage can be overwhelming and isn’t a one size-fits-all experience, especially for music creators and their families. BMI Health Connect was created to help bring clarity to an often-complex process and connect our songwriters and composers with a trusted resource so they can spend less time navigating health coverage and more time doing what they do best – creating the world’s best music.”
