Construction has begun on Munich Arena, a 20,000-capacity venue near Munich International Airport that is expected to open in 2029. Its design centers on live music, with a 270-degree horseshoe-shaped seating bowl intended to bring audiences closer to the stage.

The arena will have acoustics engineered for live music and production facilities. Its planned cooling system will use solar power to freeze water during the day, then use the ice to help cool the building before evening events.

Once operational, the venue is expected to welcome around 1.5 million fans. Deloitte estimates it will generate approximately €355 million in annual economic value for Munich and the surrounding region.

Live Nation is a strategic partner, but the arena will be open to all event organizers. Marek Lieberberg, president of Live Nation GSA, said the company wants Munich to be a first choice for international tours stopping in Germany and Europe.
