The New York trio’s 1996 studio album is getting a deluxe quadruple-vinyl edition this October
De La Soul are set to reissue their 1996 album ‘Stakes Is High’ as an expanded deluxe vinyl edition for its 30th anniversary.
Set for release on 23rd October via A.O.I. Records and distributed by Chrysalis, the reissue will feature the original album alongside 26 bonus tracks, including unreleased instrumental versions, alternate remixes and rare recordings. Physical editions include a 4LP box set, a 2CD release and a selection of exclusive vinyl variants.
The additional material includes a sought-after J Dilla remix of ‘Stakes Is High’ featuring Mos Def and Truth Enola, along with a J Dilla alternate remix and rare tracks ‘Chanel No. Fever’ and ‘I Can’t Call It’.
Released in 1996, ‘Stakes Is High’ marked a transition for the Long Island trio of Posdnuos, Maseo and the late Trugoy. It was the group’s first full-length album without longtime collaborator Prince Paul, while the J Dilla-produced title track introduced a new direction in their sound.

The reissue arrives during a period of renewed activity for De La Soul, who recently joined Gorillaz on stage at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for a performance of their ‘Feel Good Inc’ collaboration.
In a March 2025 interview, Maseo revealed that he and Posdnuos had reunited with Prince Paul to begin work on a new De La Soul album.
