DJ Shadow is marking the 30th anniversary of his debut album ‘Endtroducing…..’ with a double-LP vinyl reissue and a tour that culminates in a one-off orchestral performance at London’s Barbican.

The reissue will be released on 18th September via Mo’Wax / [PIAS], exactly three decades after the album first arrived in September 1996. The record is widely recognised as a foundational work in instrumental hip-hop and sample-based music, and it earned DJ Shadow a Guinness World Record for being the first commercially released album constructed entirely from sampled sounds.

Produced between the artist’s home studio and Dan The Automator’s The Glue Factory in San Francisco, ‘Endtroducing…..’ was built using an Akai MPC60 MkII sampler, a Technics SL-1200 turntable and an Alesis ADAT tape recorder. Shadow chopped, layered and arranged samples to create the album’s dense, atmospheric textures.

To celebrate the anniversary, DJ Shadow will take the album on tour. A North American leg begins in San Diego next month, with stops in Los Angeles, Chicago and Philadelphia, among others. The run concludes at the Barbican in London, where the album will be performed in full with the BBC Symphony Orchestra.

The announcement follows the recent release of ‘Nobody Speak Part 2’, a new single featuring Denzel Curry and TiaCorine. The track reimagines ‘Nobody Speak’, which originally appeared on Shadow’s 2016 album ‘The Mountain Will Fall’ and included Run The JewelsEl-P and Killer Mike.
