Grok Bot will use Suno for music generation, Elon Musk said on X. The planned integration would bring Suno into the bot’s selection of models for different tasks, although timing and output rights remain unclear.
Model selection and response speed
Musk said SpaceX would choose backend models according to the task, naming Suno alongside Claude Opus 5.5 and MidJourney.
“Important note regarding Grok @bot: Going forward, @SpaceX will use the best back end model for any given task, including Claude Opus 5.5, MidJourney, Suno and other leading APIs. Whatever is most likely to give you the best outcome,” he wrote.
APIs are application programming interfaces, which allow software services to interact.
In a subsequent post, Musk said most Grok Bot requests were simple and would be handled by a faster version of Grok 4.8 when it becomes available.
“Operating principle is to give Grok Bot users the best possible combination of speed & intelligence,” he added.
Integration details remain unclear
Few details about Suno’s planned integration are available. Users on X have asked about the rollout schedule and rights to generated outputs.
Another user questioned whether Suno and Midjourney offered official API products before the announcement.
Grok Bot already appears willing to respond to music generation requests using several services:
- Suno
- ElevenMusic
- Meta’s MusicGen
- Stable Audio
- Other services
Whether the planned support will bring Suno new users or lead to further integrations remains unresolved. Suno has also faced subscriber criticism of v6.
Suno expands into voice generation
ElevenLabs, which specialises in voice models, is expanding into music. Suno launched Speech at the start of October, describing it as “the first audio model that generates voice and music together as one cohesive track.”
Suno also faces multiple legal disputes and regulatory obstacles, including an investigation in Italy focused on its terms.
